Hi. I’ve been MIA from this blog because I just crammed the entire summer in two weeks. Leave it to me to splash around in the sea at the very last minute, just when the rainy season’s about to arrive. I went to Palawan again, this time with friends from high school. Loved it even more. I want to buy a house there now. Then I hopped over to Laiya with my officemates. The tail end of summer has been good to me.
But before I start worshiping Palawan and forget the rest of the world, here’s another Kay in the Bag post for ya. This is Misha. Lover of dogs, tax refunds, and the idea of Sweden. We’ve been friends for years and years and years, but she was such a bitch when we first met. Haha. (There’s a story behind this, but I’m not going to share it here.) Then there was that weird, awkward galit-galit phase throughout college, and I can’t even remember why, but now we’re cool. We’re going to have a really overdue date at Beni’s Falafel.
Yeah. So. Mmm. Doing this weekly is a lot of work. And I’m only on my third feature. But it’s all good, it’s all good.
Here we have Billie, one of my closest friends since high school. Lover of pretty dresses, great coffee (dat wonderful iced coffee we had in Jalan Alor, ugh), and dinosaurs (!!!). People have mistaken us for each other in the past. We use the same last name when websites ask us to verify our identity (we are the Smith sisters). Sometimes we both eat questionable food that might or might not be past their expiration date, then we wonder why we haven’t poisoned ourselves yet.
She’s working as a publishing editor while finishing her MA in communication, so this is the bag of a writer / editor / well-read / OC / hard worker bee / likes gifts from Japanese authors / studying person.
Second post! In this series! This week! As promised! This is a small achievement because I usually never keep the promises I make on blog posts. I deserve a cupcake.
This time, I’ll be featuring one of my best friends, Maika. Lover of perfectly cut bites of lasagna, extremely sweet coffee that’ll wreck a normal person’s blood sugar, and Veronica Mars fanfic. She just graduated from med school this month. She’s a legit doctor now. So, that’s Dr. Maika to you, thanks very much.
Look at that babe. To all the fellas out there, this lady’s single. Let me know if you’re interested, and I’ll hook you up. Like a madam.
I forgot to take a photo of her bag, but it’s the tiniest thing made by Kipling. My other friends and I were amazed she fit in so much stuff in there.
In another attempt to keep this blog alive, I’ve come up with a new segment! Not only will it keep this blog from dying an abrupt death, but it’ll also give me something to do during the weekends other than stuffing my face with chips and finding things to binge-watch on Drama.net.
My goal here is to feature a person and their bag every week. A truly ambitious goal given my blogging record. To start, I’m going to call this series … Kay in the Bag. Like cat in the bag. How ya like that? How creative! How unique! But seriously, I’ve been trying to come up with something witty all day, and this is all I got. We’ll just have to live with it for now.
Featuring the stuff people have inside their bags isn’t a new concept, but it’s an interesting one. I think every bag tells a story about that person, and I’m excited to see what people are willing to share with the world. And I haven’t done anything like this before blog-wise so that seemed like a good reason to do it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
